About the paranormal

The dictionary defines paranormal as anything that is outside of the normal logic or anything that can not be explained by logical means. Many “paranormal” experiences passed on from person to person, generation to generation are often times embellished or modified over time. Many experiences can be explained by natural means.

There are many misconceptions as to what constitutes a “paranormal investigation”. There are groups out there that will have you believe that everything “that goes bump in the night” is paranormal activity. That is simply not true. There are logical and natural explanations for many seemingly ghostly noises or feelings.

Many personal experiences are related to day-to-day activities and are hard to duplicate or recreate on command. Through the use of electronic equipment such as digital cameras, digital voice and video recorders, and EMF (electro-magnetic field) detectors, investigators and researchers can hopefully capture the phenomena to be analyzed and scrutinized. It is not uncommon to not capture anything as experiences are deemed “temperamental“.

As demonstrated on several popular television programs about paranormal research, natural and logical explanations can be anything from bad plumbing and old windows to high electro-magnetic fields and tricks of the light. Any respectable investigative group looks to find those logical and natural explanations rather than automatically assuming the experience is “paranormal”. Confirming a personal experience with evidence is the goal.
